Flare Streamlines XRP Access to DeFi with Single-Signature Smart Accounts
Flare has released an update to its Smart Accounts (FSA) system, allowing XRP holders to easily access decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. The new version, v1.3, enables users to mint FXRP and deposit it into yield-generating vaults with a single signature from their existing XRP Ledger (XRPL) wallet.
This simplified process eliminates the need for users to create an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) wallet, bridge assets between blockchains, or acquire gas tokens. Flare's system remains non-custodial, giving users control over their assets throughout the process.
The update comes as activity within Flare's XRPFi ecosystem continues to grow. Since February 2026, the amount of FXRP deployed across DeFi applications has increased by nearly 75%, rising from 82 million to 144 million FXRP.
Over 40 million XRP is currently earning yield through Smart Accounts, while nearly 24,000 Smart Accounts have been created to date. The expansion of supported wallets now includes Ledger, Xaman, Joey Wallet, and WalletConnect-compatible wallets like Bifrost.
