The Flare blockchain network has undergone significant changes following its tokenomics overhaul. The FIP.16 proposal, which received 98.06% support from governance participants, aimed to decrease yearly $FLR inflation and enhance transfer fees.

As a result of these changes, the staked $FLR tokens have increased from nearly 16B to 21.5B in July. Additionally, the staking share of delegated and staked $FLR tokens has spiked from 32% to 46% between April and August.

The overhaul also introduced a 20-fold increase in base transfer fees through the July 14 hard fork, bolstering the automatic $FLR burn model. This change is expected to support capital committed to ecosystem security while reducing inflation-funded benefits.
