Flare's Tokenomics Shift and XRPFi Integrations Fuel 7% Price Surge
The price of Flare (FLR) surged by about 7% over the last 30 hours, driven by a combination of factors including its tokenomics and DeFi narrative, as well as a technical breakout.
A key aspect of this move is the shift in tokenomics, with the end of the 36-month FlareDrops distribution program marking the beginning of a 'post-airdrop scarcity era'. This change, combined with the adoption of lower inflation settings and fee-burn mechanisms, has led to an estimated deflationary tilt.
The growth of Flare's role as a data and interoperability L1 in the XRPFi ecosystem is another significant factor. The integration of stablecoins, such as RLUSD, into decentralized lending on Flare and Morpho highlights its importance in institutional credit narratives. Additionally, the adoption of Smart Accounts v1.3 has reduced friction for XRP holders entering Flare DeFi.
The technical setup also played a role in this move, with FLR having already broken out of a larger downtrend and sitting in a falling wedge near support. This made it vulnerable to a sharp upside push once modest buying arrived.
