Florida University Lands XRP Field Logo Deal Worth $5 Million Annually
Florida University has announced a multi-year partnership with Ripple, a blockchain solutions provider, to feature the XRP cryptocurrency logo on its football field. The deal is worth $5 million annually and marks the largest field logo agreement in college sports.
The partnership will see the XRP logo prominently displayed on each 25-yard line at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, with Ripple's branding also visible throughout the stadium. As part of the deal, Ripple will support financial and technology education for Florida student-athletes and the campus community, covering both traditional finance and digital assets.
XRP operates on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), an open-source, decentralized blockchain that is used across various financial use cases, including payments, trading, collateral, and as a bridge currency between different currencies and markets.
The NCAA permitted programs to strike field logo deals ahead of the 2024 campaign to aid athletic revenue as schools prepared to share revenue with student-athletes beginning in 2025. The deal is seen as a significant revenue stream for Florida University, which has not publicly specified how it divides its share among athletes.
