FlyEdge Unveils Blockchain for Tokenized Airline Loyalty
FlyEdge has launched a public preview of its blockchain for tokenized airline loyalty. The platform, built on StreamChain, allows airlines to issue and manage tokens while keeping control over their value.
The preview includes four traveler-facing experiences: PASSPORT, a non-custodial wallet; SHOW, featuring live streams; LAST CALL, centered on imminent seat experiences; and LOUNGE, where users can convert permitted airline tokens.
FlyEdge has verified 100 pilot assets and activity across all four experiences on-chain. The company emphasizes that the preview is an invitation for airlines, travelers, and media organizations to test and verify the system themselves.
According to John Kim, founder and chief technology officer of FlyEdge, 'Airline loyalty doesn't need another general-purpose chain. It needs infrastructure that understands how airlines actually operate.'
