Fold Sells 832 BTC, Considers Reverse Split Amid Nasdaq Compliance Woes
Fold, a Bitcoin financial services firm listed on Nasdaq, sold 832 BTC to clear its debt and now considers a reverse split to regain compliance with exchange rules.
The company's quarterly filing reported that as of June 30, it held 194 BTC worth $11.4 million in its investment treasury after selling 832 BTC during the six months ended June 30. Fold also had another 77 BTC worth $4.5 million in a rewards treasury, but this balance was matched to a customer rewards liability.
A potential reverse split could lift Fold's nominal share price without raising cash or consuming Bitcoin, helping it regain Nasdaq compliance. However, this would not address the company's operating expenses, as Fold reported a $15.6 million operating loss for the first six months of 2026.
