Fomo Surpasses Hyperliquid in DeFi Revenue, Signaling Shift in Competitive Landscape
Fomo, a social trading app built on Solana, has surpassed Hyperliquid in 24-hour revenue, marking a significant shift in DeFi's competitive landscape. According to DefiLlama data, Fomo posted higher 24-hour revenue than Hyperliquid, despite the latter crossing $1B in cumulative revenue by midyear.
While Hyperliquid regularly posts daily revenues of over $3M, Fomo's recent 24-hour revenue fluctuated between $150K and $400K, peaking at $399K. This achievement is notable given that Fomo only launched perpetual futures trading in June 2026.
Fomo earns most of its revenue from transaction fees on Solana token swaps, which drives a growing user base. The platform's perps integration contributes a relatively modest slice of total revenue, with builder fees from Hyperliquid futures accounting for approximately $39K out of a recent $2.64M weekly haul.
The real money machine remains Solana swaps, driven by raw transaction demand. Fomo's weekly revenue hit an all-time high of $2.64M for the week ending August 8, 2026, placing it in the same conversation as established Solana heavyweights like Jupiter and Phantom.
