Forex Goes Crypto: Trading Hours Stretch into Uncharted Territory
The foreign exchange market is increasingly adopting features reminiscent of cryptocurrency trading, despite not moving to a blockchain. Long trading hours, fast execution, and app-based access are becoming more prevalent in currency trading.
This shift towards extended access and quicker reactions has been driven by client demand for faster turnaround and continuous liquidity. Banks and trading venues are applying these changes further as clients seek to react quickly to news stories and economic indicators.
The normalization of direct access to currency pairs, charts, and leveraged products for individual traders has also helped to bridge the gap between Forex and cryptocurrency markets. Crypto exchanges have provided a single-platform interface for spot and futures markets, charts, and account management, which Forex providers are now emulating.
