Former FBI Agent Indicted for Stealing $1 Million in Crypto
A former FBI special agent has been indicted for stealing approximately $1 million in cryptocurrency from the agency.
Patrick Steven Yaroch worked at the FBI from February 2025 to July 2026 and was charged with receipt of stolen goods and interstate transportation of stolen goods.
After stealing the crypto, Yaroch told a Department of Justice employee that it was 'eating him up inside.' He then contacted the FBI on July 29 to set up a meeting to discuss what he'd done, revealing the value of his wallet was around $1 million.
The FBI obtained Yaroch's cell phone and accessed his Kraken account, which contained approximately $188,570.58 worth of USDC and US dollars.
