Fortitude Doubles Down on Zcash Mining with $45M Investment
Fortitude Mining, owned by Digital Currency Group, is boosting its Zcash mining operations with a $45 million investment. The funds will be used to purchase new mining hardware and acquire infrastructure in Nebraska. This move aims to increase vertical integration, allowing the company to control more power and data-center capacity, thereby reducing reliance on third parties.
The shift towards Zcash is significant, as it now accounts for the majority of Fortitude's mining revenue. Higher Zcash prices, despite lower coin production, have contributed to this trend. This development precedes Fortitude's planned public listing through a merger with HeartSciences Inc., positioning it for growth in the competitive crypto mining sector.
