Fortitude Mining's Nebraska Acquisition Sends ZEC Price Soaring
Fortitude Mining, the Digital Currency Group-backed subsidiary focused on Zcash mining, has acquired a new 12.5-megawatt facility in Prosser, Nebraska for approximately $4.7 million after credits.
The deal includes land, buildings, and an on-site electrical substation, increasing Fortitude's owned power capacity to more than 60 MW across seven mining locations.
This expansion is seen as a long-term positive for the Zcash ecosystem, improving network decentralization and security while lowering production costs for miners.
The acquisition has fueled renewed buying pressure in the market, causing ZEC's price to surge over 6% today, outperforming most major cryptocurrencies.
