Fortitude Powers Up 12MW Nebraska Facility as it Eyes Public Listing
Zcash mining company Fortitude has reached a significant milestone by bringing its 12-megawatt facility in Grand Island, Nebraska online.
The facility is the company's first greenfield data center and expands its owned power portfolio to over 60 megawatts across seven sites.
This milestone comes ahead of Fortitude's planned public listing through a business combination with HeartSciences (Nasdaq: HSCS), a publicly traded medical technology company.
The CEO, Andrea Childs, told Decrypt that owning the asset rather than leasing capacity gives them flexibility and control over their power costs.
The facility is expected to reduce Fortitude's direct cash cost of mining Zcash from $70 per coin to around $40 per coin, assuming successful deployment of mining equipment and stable conditions.
