Founder of Failed NFT Project Indicted on Fraud Charges
Taj Tarsha, the founder and sole equity owner of Few and Far, has been indicted on securities and wire fraud charges by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).
The indictment alleges that Tarsha raised over $10 million from at least 67 investors for an NFT marketplace, promising that their investments would fund development.
However, instead of building a functional platform, prosecutors claim that Tarsha used investor funds for personal expenses, including online gambling and cryptocurrency purchases.
An internal audit in June 2023 uncovered the misappropriation of funds, leading to disputes over Few and Far's finances. Tarsha allegedly regained control of the company treasury, fired nearly all remaining staff, and kept one contractor working on efforts to create the appearance of continued marketplace development.
