Fountain Hills Man Pleads Guilty to Cryptocurrency Scams

A Fountain Hills man has pleaded guilty to wire fraud related to cryptocurrency scams. Jeremie Sowerby was charged three times in three months, and his plea agreement indicates that hundreds of people were defrauded out of millions of dollars.

Court records show that Sowerby's charges date back as far as 2017, and he is set to pay up to $30 million in restitution. The plea agreement also states that prosecutors could prove the scams involved cryptocurrency.
