Fourth Wave of Coldcard Attacks Sees Over 440 BTC Moved
A fourth wave of attacks linked to the compromised Coldcard firmware has emerged, with approximately 448.7 Bitcoin moved across several hundred transactions.
According to Alex Thorn, research head at Galaxy Research, the recent Coldcard Attack involved 709 potential victim addresses and attackers swept 13.8 wallets per Bitcoin block, a significant increase from previous activity.
The majority of transactions created new destination addresses for each victim, with some stolen funds sent to second-hop addresses to hinder recovery attempts.
