France Set to Share Crypto Data with 48 Countries Under New CARF Framework
The French government has introduced a bill to ratify the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF), developed by the OECD, which will allow Paris to share crypto transaction data with 48 countries.
This new legislation aims to combat tax fraud and is expected to impact anyone holding crypto assets in France. The framework will extend beyond the European Union, allowing for international data exchanges between participating jurisdictions.
The timeline for implementation is clear: the first data exchange is scheduled for 2027 among 47-48 participating countries, followed by a second group of 28 countries in 2028. The United States has announced its intention to implement CARF from 2029.
