France has begun implementing its participation in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF), aiming to strengthen automatic exchange of tax information on crypto-assets. By September 30, 2025, 52 states and territories had signed a multilateral instrument supporting the framework.

The first exchanges will concern information gathered during 2026 and are planned for 2027. France has also participated in developing the international framework for automatic exchange of crypto-asset information.

France's participation in CARF forms part of wider efforts to improve tax transparency, with automatic information exchanges helping tax administrations collect information that can be used to identify possible tax fraud and evasion.
