Franklin Templeton Joins Canton Network as Super Validator
Franklin Templeton has become a Super Validator on Canton Network's Global Synchronizer. This means they will operate one of the special nodes that verify transactions and form consensus on the network.
Canton is a public L1 blockchain designed to allow financial institutions to process regulated assets while maintaining confidentiality. The platform has been gaining traction, with notable participants including Nasdaq and Visa.
Franklin Templeton's decision to participate in Canton Network reflects their focus on integrating tokenized assets into traditional finance. They believe that financial institutions should not only utilize blockchain technology but also contribute to its development.
The company will earn a maximum Super Validator reward weight of 5, which is calculated based on the number of milestones they achieve. The first milestone requires Franklin Templeton to execute at least one financial management transaction on Canton's mainnet within six months of CIP approval.
