Franklin Templeton Lists Tokenized Money Market Fund on HashKey Exchange
Franklin Templeton has expanded its tokenized money market fund offering through HashKey Exchange in Hong Kong. The Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Liquidity Fund, traded as grBENJI, is now available on HashKey's Earn channel for professional investors only.
The fund holds U.S. government money market instruments and dollar cash assets, with returns tracking short-term Treasury yields. According to RWA.xyz, the BENJI token currently yields around 3.6% over seven and 30 days at a net asset value of $1.00.
HashKey Exchange's chief executive, Haiyang Ru, stated that the listing addresses institutional demand for compliant real-world asset yield. Franklin Templeton plans to expand beyond tokenized money market funds into other tokenized products using HashKey's platform across several regions, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Dubai, and Bermuda.
The firm has formed a strategic collaboration with Payward, the parent of crypto exchange Kraken, covering tokenized equities, custody, and actively managed yield products. Franklin Templeton also recently launched its dedicated crypto arm, Franklin Crypto, following its acquisition of CoinFund spinoff 250 Digital in June.
