Franklin Templeton Teams Up with Canton Network for Blockchain Infrastructure
Franklin Templeton has expanded its involvement in blockchain infrastructure by partnering with Canton Network. The move is part of Franklin Templeton's efforts to accelerate its expansion into digital assets and tokenized finance markets.
Canton Network is a platform that enables institutions to build, manage, and operate their own blockchain networks. In July, the company introduced Logical Synchronizer Upgrades (LSUs) to make major protocol upgrades automatic and routine, allowing for seamless parallel infrastructure.
The partnership with Canton Network comes as Franklin Templeton continues to explore the potential of AI agents in blockchain technology. According to its head of digital assets, Sandy Kaul, AI agents will be a key use case for blockchain, enabling agentic micropayments and transforming the industry.
