French Couple Abducted in Bitcoin Extortion Attempt
On August 10-11, a Bitcoin ransom attack occurred in Rion-des-Landes, France. Two residents were forcibly removed from their residence during the early morning hours.
The male victim was discovered approximately 20 kilometers away, unclothed and bearing injuries. The female victim was located inside a vehicle in a separate department.
Law enforcement apprehended two individuals after deploying extensive roadblocks and investigative operations.
Bordeaux's specialized jurisdiction and France's National Anti-Organized Crime Prosecutor's Office are managing the investigation.
