Martin returns to his hometown of Elba, New York, and initially views cryptocurrency as just another financial risk. However, he eventually gets involved in Earl's legitimate mining operation on the Duran farm after exposing a Russian Mafia laundering network inside OmniBank.
The mining equipment left behind by Earl provides Martin with both a legal source of income and crucial evidence to take down the money launderers who killed him.
Martin's investigation, which was aided by Katie, an undercover FBI agent, ultimately leads to the exposure of Robin, the hidden institutional link between OmniBank and the crime syndicate.
