From Cloud Computing to Crypto Pioneer: Luke Youngblood's Journey
Luke Youngblood is a seasoned software engineer who has made a significant impact in the world of cryptocurrency. Before founding Moonwell, he worked as a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Coinbase, where he built staking rewards infrastructure for various networks, including Tezos, Cosmos, Algorand, and Ethereum's eth2 network.
Youngblood's journey began when he started mining Bitcoin as a hobby in 2010 on his gaming PC. He later explored Ethereum around 2016-2017 and worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS) from 2016, where he helped major customers migrate applications to the cloud.
In 2021, Youngblood founded Moonwell, a decentralized lending and borrowing protocol that has expanded to multiple networks, including Kusama's Moonriver network, Base, and Optimism. The protocol is governed by over 100,000 holders of its WELL token, which allows for upgrades and market additions without centralized control.
