FSA Report Highlights Cybersecurity Risks in Cryptocurrency Industry
The Financial Services Agency (FSA) of Japan has published a report on cybersecurity in the cryptocurrency industry. The report, titled 'Research Report on Cybersecurity Challenges and Countermeasures for Cryptocurrency-Related Businesses', was prepared by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.
The report analyzed 10 cases of cyber attacks on cryptocurrency businesses, including Bybit and Euler Finance. It highlighted the need for companies to take a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity, not just focusing on their own systems but also on their supply chain.
According to the report, many recent high-profile hacks have involved external services or partners, such as cloud providers or protocol developers. The FSA emphasized that cryptocurrency businesses must take responsibility for managing risk across their entire supply chain.
