FTX Repayments Top $10B with Latest Creditor Payout

Share

The FTX Recovery Trust has initiated its fifth round of creditor repayments, totaling $900 million. This brings the cumulative amount returned to victims to approximately $10 billion.

FTX filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2022 after a liquidity crisis exposed a massive shortfall in customer funds. The collapse sent shockwaves through the crypto industry and triggered multiple regulatory investigations.

The repayment process has been gradual, with earlier distributions covering smaller claims. The fifth payout is part of a structured plan approved by the bankruptcy court and focuses on creditors with approved claims who have completed the necessary verification steps.
