Futures-Driven Bitcoin Market Faces Demand Problem
Bitcoin's price is facing mixed signals as futures activity rises while on-chain spot demand remains net negative. Ki Young Ju, an analyst, noted that a lasting move higher usually needs both spot and futures demand. He pointed to April as an example of how futures-led rallies can lose strength when spot demand does not provide enough support.
A second early bull signal has appeared on BTC, according to CW8900, which could indicate a possible bottom for the cryptocurrency. However, this signal does not remove the demand problem, and the Bitcoin price needs buyers to follow through if a breakout is to last.
Treasury firms Metaplanet and Hut 8 have moved large amounts of BTC, raising supply concerns. While these transfers are not necessarily proof of market sales, they could add pressure on the price if sold into the market.
