G2 Esports has managed to stay alive in the FISSURE tournament by defeating BIG in a best-of-three lower-bracket match at the $1 million Counter-Strike 2 tournament in Suzhou, China.

This victory came after G2's opening-round loss to Astralis, which dropped them into the lower bracket of the double-elimination group stage. The match against BIG was a quarterfinal in the lower bracket, with real consequences for both teams.

G2 reportedly struggled early on but found their footing and closed out the series. This win puts G2 one step closer to advancing in the tournament, which has a prize pool of $1 million and is being held from September 8 through September 13.
