G20 Agrees on Policies Supporting Digital Asset Growth

Share

The G20 nations have agreed on policies that support the growth of digital assets. In a statement released by the US Treasury Department, the group acknowledged the transformative role of digital asset innovation and its potential for broad-based economic growth.

The G20 also called for improvements in cross-border transactions and data transmission related to financial services. The body is awaiting results from the Financial Stability Board regarding global stablecoin arrangements and data sources.

The statements follow the establishment of laws and regulations by member countries to address cryptocurrencies and stablecoins, such as the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) rules in the EU and the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for US Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act.
