G20 Backs Digital Asset Innovation, Seeks Cross-Border Payment Improvements
The G20, currently chaired by the US under its presidency, has recognized the potential of digital assets in supporting 'broad-based economic growth.'
In a statement released by the US Treasury Department on Tuesday, member nations agreed to policies supportive of digital asset innovation.
The G20 called for improvements in cross-border transactions and the facilitation of financial services-related data transmission.
'We commit to advancing responsible and effective regulatory and supervisory frameworks that preserve financial stability, support economic growth, and establish clear pathways for sound digital financial and digital assets innovation,' said the G20 statement.
