The G20 finance ministers and central bank governors met in Asheville, North Carolina on August 31 to September 1, 2026. They issued a Chair's Statement that outlined their commitment to advancing responsible regulatory and supervisory frameworks for digital assets.

The statement reaffirmed the group's support for the Roadmap for Enhancing Cross-Border Payments and encouraged wider adoption of the ISO 20022 data model for cross-border payments regulation.
