Galaxy Bets Big on Tokenized US Home Prices
The US housing market is one of the largest asset classes in the world, worth approximately $55 trillion. However, it's notoriously difficult to gain exposure to this market without actually buying a house. Galaxy Digital is betting big on a new digital asset that claims to solve this problem.
Galaxy has committed $50 million to USHP, a project that aims to track US home prices through a daily predictive index and associated token. The index is built by Index Industries, while the token is issued by USHP Ltd., a subsidiary of the USHP Foundation based in the Cayman Islands.
The token is explicitly designed for non-US investors only, and Galaxy's involvement is seen as a credibility signal. The firm has been actively recruiting in blockchain technology, fintech, and capital markets specifically for this initiative, suggesting a longer-term strategic commitment rather than a one-off allocation.
