Garlinghouse Hails Trump's Crypto Leadership as CLARITY Act Stalls

Share

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has spoken out about his recent meetings at the White House and with the CFTC. The gatherings aimed to discuss the CLARITY Act, a key piece of legislation for the crypto industry.

The meeting at the White House brought together executives from major crypto companies, including Coinbase, Ripple, and Gemini, along with chairmen of the SEC and CFTC.

Garlinghouse noted that despite the bipartisan nature of the CLARITY Act, it has failed to gain support from Democrats in the Senate. He praised President Trump's commitment to innovation and leadership around digital assets in the US, stating that 'the future is bright'.

At the CFTC meeting, all parties agreed that current regulatory rules are outdated and not suitable for the current market environment. Garlinghouse referred to an old open letter he wrote in 2019, urging the US authorities to create clearer rules for crypto.
