Garlinghouse Sees Crypto Capital within Reach as CLARITY Act Vote Looms
Ripple CEO Bradley Garlinghouse remains optimistic about the US's potential to become a global leader in crypto, despite ongoing regulatory uncertainty and legislative hurdles.
Speaking at an event, Garlinghouse urged lawmakers to pass the CLARITY Act, which aims to provide a clearer regulatory framework for digital assets in the US. He stated that making America the 'crypto capital of the world' is within reach and encouraged lawmakers to 'finish the job.'
The CLARITY Act has faced several roadblocks, including disagreements over ethics requirements, decentralized finance rules, consumer safeguards, and rewards tied to stablecoins. A crucial vote on the legislation is scheduled for September 15, with a narrow window for review and potential passage.
