Garlinghouse: US Can Still Become Leading Crypto Hub Despite Regulatory Uncertainty
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse believes that despite ongoing regulatory uncertainty, the United States can still become the world's leading center for cryptocurrency. In a recent post on X, he emphasized the importance of policymakers completing the work needed to establish the country as a top destination for crypto businesses and innovation.
The comments come after a meeting at the White House hosted by President Donald Trump, where industry executives and federal regulators discussed developing modern financial infrastructure domestically. Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Michael Selig stated that the administration wants the next generation of financial technology to be developed in the United States.
Garlinghouse is urging U.S. policymakers to provide greater clarity to the digital-asset industry, which he believes is crucial for companies determining where to allocate capital and develop products. The CLARITY Act, currently pending legislation, aims to establish a framework dividing digital-asset oversight between the SEC and CFTC, but its passage remains uncertain due to differences in House and Senate versions.
