Gate Executive Sees Prediction Markets' Future in User-Driven Ecosystem
At Coinfest Asia, Jason Fung, Head of Global Partnerships at Gate, discussed the future of prediction markets in an interview. He emphasized that the market's greatest opportunity lies not just in trading, but in creating a user-driven market ecosystem.
Fung noted that as on-chain prediction markets continue to evolve, competition will shift from solely focusing on liquidity and transaction size. The industry will instead prioritize reducing market creation barriers, diversifying market types, and engaging more users in market building.
Gate's recently released Event Contract Builder was highlighted by Fung as a significant step towards making prediction markets more open. This tool allows users to create their own markets without extensive development knowledge, enabling them to quickly build markets around popular events and explore niche topics.
Fung believes that the potential of prediction markets remains largely untapped, with applications extending beyond politics, sports, and cryptocurrencies to AI, entertainment, and other fields. As more developers and entrepreneurs enter this space, the industry will be driven by advancements in builder ecosystems, market diversity, and user experience.
