Gemini Donates $10M in Bitcoin to Pro-Trump Super PAC Amid Settlement Withdrawal Request
Crypto exchange Gemini made headlines recently after donating $10 million in Bitcoin to MAGA Inc., a super PAC that supports President Donald Trump.
The donation came just three weeks after Gemini jointly asked a federal court to withdraw a settlement with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
This is not the first time the Winklevoss twins, co-founders of Gemini, have shown support for Trump. During the 2024 presidential election, each donated $1 million to his campaign and gave $21 million in Bitcoin to the Digital Freedom Fund super PAC to support crypto policy.
The timing of this donation has raised some eyebrows, with CFTC Commissioner Summer K. Mersinger suggesting that the Biden administration had politically targeted Gemini's founders.
