Gemini Expands into Stock Trading with Commission-Free Feature

Share

Gemini, the cryptocurrency exchange co-founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, is expanding its services to include commission-free stock trading. The feature, set to launch on July 7, 2026, will allow users in eligible states to buy and sell thousands of US exchange-listed securities alongside their crypto holdings in a single account.

This marks a significant shift for Gemini, which has built its identity around digital assets. By adding stock trading, the platform is now competing directly with major brokerages like Robinhood, Fidelity, and Coinbase.

The equities feature is built on partnerships with Nasdaq, which provides real-time market data, and Apex Clearing Corporation, which handles clearing and custody. Cameron Winklevoss has framed the vision for Gemini as a platform where users can manage their entire financial lives in one place.
