Gemini Secures Major Singapore Licence Amid Asian Expansion
Gemini has secured a Major Payment Institution (MPI) licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), solidifying its presence in one of Asia's financial hubs.
The exchange, which already provides spot crypto trading and custody services in Singapore, will now have a stronger regulatory foothold in the country.
Gemini Digital Payments Singapore received the licence on September 8, allowing it to operate as an approved payment services provider without the transaction limits faced by smaller institutions.
An MPI licence requires Gemini to meet strict standards in areas such as customer protection, financial crime prevention, and operational controls.
