Gemini Stock Slumps on Analyst Downgrades Amid Crypto Market Woes
Gemini Space Station's stock is plummeting in Monday's trading, falling 9.1% as of 11:30 a.m. ET and hitting an earlier low of 13.8%.
This decline comes after multiple investment firms revised their price targets on the company down, including Rosenblatt, Mizuho, Needham, and Goldman Sachs. Rosenblatt lowered its target from $9 per share to $6 per share, while Goldman maintained a sell rating with an even lower target of $3.50 per share.
The analysts' downward revisions reflect the tough crypto market conditions that are weighing on Gemini's performance. While the company beat expectations in terms of sales in its second-quarter report last week, it posted a wider-than-expected loss of $0.89 per share on revenue of $45.5 million. Transaction volume has declined alongside broader trends in the cryptocurrency space.
