Gen Z Crypto Traders Flood Indian Market, Risks of Volatility Loom

Share

India's crypto market is experiencing a surge in activity driven by Gen Z investors, who now make up a significant portion of new traders. According to a CoinSwitch report, 54.4% of new investors in Q2 2026 are under the age of 25.

These young investors are unlike their older counterparts, who tend to hold onto cryptocurrencies for years without selling. Gen Z traders, on the other hand, engage actively with the market by buying and selling tokens frequently.

This trend is making the Indian crypto market more active, but it also comes with risks. Frequent trading can expose even experienced traders to volatility, and emotional decisions can lead to losses.
