Gen Z Cryptocurrency Ownership Soars Globally
A new survey conducted by Gemini has found that over half of Gen Z adults worldwide own or have owned cryptocurrency, according to its 2024 State of Crypto Report. The survey polled 6,000 adults across the United States, United Kingdom, France, Singapore, and Turkey between May and July 2024.
The report reveals that among Gen Z respondents aged 18-29, 51% said they own or have previously owned cryptocurrency. This figure stands well above the 35% reported by the general population in the same age group. In the U.S. alone, Gen Z ownership matched 51%, ahead of Millennials at 49% and Gen X at 29%.
The survey also found that one in three U.S. Gen Z respondents would feel comfortable putting at least 5% of their portfolio into crypto, compared to 21% of the broader population.
