Gen Z Dominates Traditional Finance Product Accumulation
Gen Z investors are leading the charge in accumulating assets across Binance's traditional finance products, according to new research from Binance Research. The market analysis arm of cryptocurrency exchange Binance found that 77% of Gen Z direct-equity accounts were net accumulators, surpassing the 74% figure for Gen X and 68% for Baby Boomers.
In bStocks, a significant 76% of Gen Z accounts were net accumulators, with a nine percentage point lead over Millennials at 67%. The direct-equity figures carried the most economic weight, with a Gen Z net flow ratio of 26.5% and an average net inflow of $1,898 per account.
The report also revealed that 22% of Gen Z direct-equity accounts have never placed a sell order, compared to 19% for Gen X and 9% for Baby Boomers. This indicates a 'buy-only' strategy, with the average Gen Z account averaging only 1.63 trades per month in bStocks.
Binance Research found that Gen Z was also the lowest-turnover working-age cohort across every product studied. In TradFi-Perps, the average Gen Z account traded just 13 times a month, compared to 17 for Millennials and 16.5 for Gen X.
