Gen Z Finds Love in Crypto, But Infrastructure Holds Them Back
A recent survey commissioned by OKX found that 13% of Gen Z respondents have paid for dates using cryptocurrency. The Pollfish survey of 1,000 U.S. adults revealed practical barriers are preventing wider adoption among younger Americans interested in digital asset payments.
The lack of a direct payment method was cited as the primary obstacle by those who have not used crypto for date payments. This gap between interest and actual usage points to infrastructure limitations in everyday payment scenarios.
Financial literacy emerged as a valued trait in the dating market, with two-thirds of all respondents saying knowledge of personal finance matters when evaluating potential partners. Gen Z was particularly strong on this view at 76%, while Millennials were close behind at 75%.
