Gen Z Flocks to Binance ETFs as Equity Trading Habits Shift
Gen Z investors on Binance are increasingly turning to exchange-traded funds (ETFs), with 25% of their equity volume in early August coming from ETFs, up from 14.6% in June.
The shift is also reflected in net capital flows, with unleveraged ETFs capturing 21.9% of Gen Z's net equity inflows in July, compared to 18.5% in June.
Meanwhile, individual stocks accounted for 74.2%, down from 77%. The analysis by Binance Research covered direct equities, tokenized stocks, and traditional finance perpetual contracts.
According to Lim Kim Thye, the research author, two months cannot establish a lasting trend, but the findings suggest ETF investing held up better than other equity categories during a quieter month.
