Gen Z Investors Flock to ETFs on Binance, Hold Positions Longer
Gen Z investors are increasingly turning to exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on Binance, with ETFs accounting for 25% of their equity volume in early August. This represents a significant increase from 14.6% in June, according to research by Binance Research.
The analysis also found that Gen Z investors are holding onto positions longer, with an average of 10-14 days between trades. In contrast, older generations such as Millennials and Gen X were more active traders, completing an average of 17 and 16.5 monthly trades respectively.
Furthermore, the study revealed that about 22% of Gen Z direct-equity accounts had never submitted a sell order, compared to 19% for Gen X and 9% for Baby Boomers. This suggests that younger investors are adopting a more buy-and-hold approach to investing.
The growth in tokenized stocks on Binance is also notable, with the platform's bStocks briefly overtaking Kraken xStocks as the second-largest tokenized equity platform. However, Ondo Finance retained the largest market position.
