Gen Z Investors Show Greater Financial Discipline on Binance
Binance Research has released a new report examining the behavior of Gen Z investors on Binance's TradFi products. The study found that 30% of Gen Z investors began investing during university or early adulthood, double the rate for Millennials and significantly higher than Gen X.
The report also noted that 77% of Gen Z investors have received formal financial education, the highest percentage among all generations. This greater preparation is paired with stronger financial discipline, as Gen Z trades less frequently at 2.6 times per day compared to other cohorts at 3.0 times per day.
Gen Z accounts for 44% of Direct Stocks and bStocks users on Binance, and roughly 45% of TradFi-Perps users. Within this group, 13% are Gen Z investors from emerging markets holding less than $2,000 in equity assets, a segment the report identifies as 'Next Gen Users'. These users often rely solely on Binance for access to US equities.
The study suggests that Gen Z's behavior contradicts the assumption of speculative trading. Leveraged ETFs account for just 5.9% of Gen Z trading volume, and their trades are more concentrated in established names such as NVIDIA and Micron.
