Gen Z Takes the Lead in India's Crypto Market
India's Gen Z has become the largest cohort of crypto investors in the country, accounting for 37.6% of total crypto investors, according to a report by CoinSwitch.
The report highlights that buying digital assets is no longer an intimidating experience for this generation, with many young investors starting with small amounts, often between ₹500 and ₹1,000.
According to Sumit Gupta, Co-founder of CoinDCX, while Bitcoin remains the dominant entry point, Gen Z's portfolios are gradually becoming more diversified as their understanding of blockchain matures.
The 30-45 cohort saw its share expand from 36% to 38% over the same period, bringing greater disposable income, longer investment horizons and more considered portfolio construction onto the platform, CoinSwitch reported.
Young investors today actively seek information before making investment decisions and increasingly recognize the importance of understanding both the opportunities and the risks, with a 33.61% growth in users visiting Binance Academy compared to the same period last year.
