Genius Group Abandons Bitcoin for $800M AI Treasury
Genius Group, a company that has been struggling with debt and losses, has made a significant shift in its strategy. The company announced that it will allocate $800 million to an AI treasury by 2031, with an initial $100 million investment in the AGI Infinity Portfolio.
The portfolio will hold indirect stakes in SpaceX, OpenAI, and Anthropic through third-party funds. This move marks a sharp departure from Genius Group's previous 'Bitcoin-first' strategy, which was liquidated in May to pay off debt liabilities of $8.5 million.
As a result of the new strategy, Genius Group's stock has surged by 30% and is on track to wipe out its May losses of around 34%. The company's market capitalization stands at approximately $42 million, with quarterly revenue of $3.3 million in the first quarter of 2026.
The AGI Infinity Portfolio will be capped at 40% of Genius Group's total assets and will sit alongside the company's operating businesses and a planned Bitcoin treasury that may restart in 2027.
