Genius Group Seeks $2B Dual Treasury Target After Liquidating Bitcoin Holdings
Genius Group, an AI-powered education company listed on the NYSE, has announced plans to rebuild its cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence treasuries. This move comes just months after it liquidated its entire Bitcoin holdings, which peaked at 440 BTC in February 2025, to pay off $8.5 million in debt.
The company's CEO, Roger James Hamilton, stated that 'Every dollar of preferred capital deployed into our bitcoin and AI Treasury that generates returns above the preferred dividend rate flows directly to our ordinary shareholders' net asset value.'
Genius Group initially adopted a 'Bitcoin first' strategy in late 2024, which was disrupted by a court order blocking the company from raising funds or issuing shares. The company then sold its remaining Bitcoin entirely, using the proceeds to eliminate its debt.
The new plan involves rebuilding both treasuries, with a combined target of $1.6 billion and total assets reaching $2 billion by fiscal year 2031. This will be funded through perpetual preferred securities under a $1.2 billion SEC shelf registration, targeting an initial $12.5 million raise.
