Ross Gerber, a well-known Tesla bull and long-time Bitcoin investor, has expressed his disappointment with the cryptocurrency due to its association with Michael Saylor's Strategy. Gerber stated that Saylor 'kinda makes me over' Bitcoin, implying that he can no longer take it seriously.

Gerber has been a vocal critic of Strategy's use of debt and capital-market transactions to buy more BTC. He questioned the company's business model in June, asking if their strategy was to sell low in desperation. In July, Gerber accused Saylor of undermining Bitcoin by selling his holdings, which led to a negative cycle of liquidation among speculators.

Gerber has been involved with Bitcoin since at least 2018 and had previously described it as an inflation hedge and digital gold. However, in March 2025, he sold most of his Bitcoin holdings and invested some of the proceeds into gold.
